Greetings from IFMA Professional Development!

IFMA has newly developed CFM Virtual Study Group series is starting to rock & roll! We have been advertising since June and hope you have seen information about it in our WIRE and/or C3 communications.  I wanted to give you a little more information regarding the program, as well as the newly finalized webinar schedule for 2012 that will be posted next week.  Your help with spreading this information to your chapter membership is greatly appreciated.

During the research phase of this product, we heard incredible things about our many chapters that have active CFM Study Group programs.  This is not a replacement to those highly regarded chapter CFM programs, but as an alternative option for those who do not have local access for various reasons.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 281-974-5637 or vicky.acosta@ifma.org.

Virtual Study Group Series: Preparing for the CFM Exam

The Certified Facility Manager® (CFM) credential sets the industry standard for ensuring the knowledge and competence of practicing facility managers.  Passing the CFM Exam will validate that your level of competence measures up to the preeminent standards in the FM industry.

This Virtual Study Group (VSG) is geared specifically for those CFM candidates who are in the final stages of preparing to take the CFM Exam, including those who have already taken the CFM Exam Review course.

Facilitated by a CFM Exam Review instructor, the CFM VSG series is comprised of nine 90-minute sessions. CFM VSGs are for individuals and not for groups and have a maximum of 20 seats available per session.   Each session covers specific key topics in each of the nine facility management competency areas: Leadership and Management, Planning and Project Management, Communication, Operations and Maintenance, Finance Quality Assessment and Innovation, Human and Environmental Factors, Real Estate and Technology. If you are looking for a thorough review of the competencies, these sessions are not for you.

Take only the sessions that you need for your final prep for or take all of them – all from the comfort of your home or office.  All you need is a computer, internet connection and a telephone LAN line (recommended).

Session Highlights:

1.      Learn “must have” key topics in facility management competency areas relevant to the CFM Exam

2.      Q&A with IFMA CFM Exam Review course instructor

3.      Become more confident and comfortable when you take the exam

Target Audience:

1.      CFM candidates in their final preparations for IFMA’s CFM Exam

2.      CFM candidates who have taken IFMA’s CFM Exam Review

3.      CFM candidates who have difficulties with passing the IFMA’s CFM Exam

4.      CFM candidates who are ready to sit for the exam, but only need certain key topics from the 9 competencies
