April's Luncheon - Mona Newton Governor's Energy Office / Food Pantry Drive for Warren Village

Luncheon with guest speaker, Mona Newton, Mona will be discussing the topic of Energy Efficiency and the utilization of Renewable Energy.

CEU credits will be earned for attendance at this meeting.

The lunch begins at 11:30 and check-in starts at 11:00

Come join us for the important topic of Energy Efficiency and utilization of Renewable Energy. Meet our dynamic speaker, Mona Newton. Mona Newton is the Central Regional Representative with the Governor's Energy Office. Ms. Newton presents the GEO’s programs to communities, counties and utilities, aiding in the formation of partnerships that result in increased Energy Efficiency, and utilization of Renewable Energy.

She has been working energy efficiency and renewable energy arena for 20+ years.

Prior to joining the GEO, Mona was the Marketing Director for Bella Energy, an energy solutions company, and sold RECs from a Colorado Wind Farm for Community Energy. She also developed a model for a community-owned wind farm in partnership with Boulder Community Hospital.

For 16 years she was Executive Director of the Center for ReSource Conservation, a nonprofit organization. During that time she helped to found ReSource, the used building materials salvage yard – with a branch in Ft. Collins. She was recognized with an E-Achievement Award from E-Town for that work.

She received a MA from the University of Denver Josef Korbel School of International Studies and a BA from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Program content and learning objectives:

1. Overview of Governor’s Energy Office
2. Public building energy efficiency programs
3. Applicability to the Commercial Sector

These and other topics will be discussed along with questions proposed for thought to address the challenges of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in these changing economic times.

Pantry Drive for Warren Village We are collecting pantry items from the list below, please bring to the luncheon for drop off.
