Speaker: Rebecca Gillis, Manager of Global Business Development for the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade.

Join us for a delicious lunch, extraordinary networking, and learn all about what is on the horizon for Colorado development. Rebecca works on business recruitment, retention, and expansion for Governor Hickenlooper's Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT). She will give a brief introduction of the functions of OEDIT, the agency's efforts to catalyze economic vibrancy throughout the state and OEDIT's strategies to assist local Colorado businesses to expand internationally. Rebecca can also speak to the overall atmosphere in business development in the Metro Denver area, as well as across the rest of the state. Finally, Rebecca can address the growth of specific industries across the region, as well as the Governor's efforts in addressing some of the challenges related to economic development facing the state.

Rebecca Gillis is the Global Business Development Manager with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. In her capacity, Rebecca works on domestic and international business recruitment, expansion, and retention for her home state of Colorado. Her industry focuses include outdoor recreation, cyber security, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. Before joining OEDIT, Rebecca was with Colorado Lending Source, a community development non-profit emphasizing sustainable small business growth throughout the state. She has always had an interest in public service and economic development and has held positions at the Colorado State House of Representatives and with Mile High Youth Corps in the past. In addition, she has worked at a think-tank in Washington, D.C., and at an academic institution in Bologna, Italy.
